Day 3: Okehampton to Cheddar 88 miles
After the excitment of yesterday, to-day has been a long haul with some severe hills in the early stages which stayed in the legs for the rest of the day. Having said that the average speed is up thanks to some longer spells of rolling terrain. One or two sudden braking manouvers when meeting tractors on narrow country lanes with overgrown verges served to elevate the heart rate otherwise it was a day to add some reasonable miles.

Although we may not comment every day, I can assure you we are following your daily blog. I am sure there can be nothing more disheartening thinking you are doing alone and no one is reading your posts! They are!
Simon & Rubina P.S. watch out for the Welsh Buzzards, they are more viscous! Re: Re: Day 3 and adding the miles

I am pleased to report the Welsh Buzzards beheaved impeccably. They did everything you would expect such as hovering over the grass verges then drop on their pray which did not include me or my helmet.

Thanks Peter/Sarah
The legs are feeling rather leaden to-day however I am hoping a good meal and a nights sleep will sort that out. Re: Day 3 and adding the miles

Well, I've finally had time to sign up so that I can post a comment.
You've obviously made quite an impression with Thea as she's now said that she wants to do this ride when she has time and has an expensive bike with spuds - it's good to know that even she wouldn't attempt this one in high heels! Fingers crossed that the weather continues to hold out for you. Keep pedalling! Trackbacks
